Growing Horses — Newborn Foals and Yearlings (0-12 months)

At this stage, foals (0-12 months) should be kept close to their mothers and in contact with other horses. Newborns feed from their mothers for the first while. The yearling stage (1-2 years) is a period of growth and by the end of 2 years, most horses should be at their full size and weight.

Masterfeeds 14% Equine Developer pellet is ideal for the growth and development of yearlings, but also the pregnant and lactating mares.

Adult stage (2-20 years)

This is when horses are in their prime.

Senior stage (20+ years)

At this stage, joint pain is a concern and their diet should be adjusted as their ability to chew and digest foods decreases. Our stores stock Omega Alpha products that help older with joint pain (such as Antiflam).
